Christmas!
Avery has found the toy catalogs from Target and another one called Under Construction. She has been carrying them around the house the last three days telling me about all the things she wants. I told her that she has to ask Santa when she goes to see him. Then I started singing "You better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout I'm telling you why Santa Clause is coming to town" She looked at me with HUGE eyes as I continued to sing the song. Then she asked "How will he know if I pout? How does he see me when I am sleeping?"
About every 1/2 hour for a couple hours she said will you sing that song again. She was really trying to figure it all out!
Then on the way home from dinner tonight Matt and I were singing "Jingle Bells" Avery said "Wait Mom is that a princess?" I said "Is who a princess???" She said "That Jingle Bell?" I laughed so hard!
This Christmas Season is going to be sooo much fun with this curious little 3 year old!

For Great Aunt Mary
Avery's Great Aunt Mary sent her the perfect Birthday card with a pop out crown. Once we got the crown out for her to wear she head to go get the rest of her princess gear on...note the shoes and wand too! Thank You Aunt Mary for the Card and Gift card...they were perfect ;-)
Reading
Avery has been reading lots of books to Madyx lately! This one Grandma bought and Avery loves to read it to her little brother!
For Grandma
Joanne bought Madyx this cute Sailor outfit in England! We love it and it is the softest fabric! Thank You Grandma...
A Smile to Brighten Your Day!
Madyx has been smiling a lot lately. This is his cute little smile but he has a big open mouth smile too...just couldn't get him to do it for the camera! LOVE this little man!!!

Celebrating with Chuck E Cheese!
Avery had her party planned since last March when she attended her cousins party at Chuck E. Cheese. She has been talking about it for months and she loved every single minute of the spotlight. Look at the big grin....The only bad part of the day was when she got stuck in the tubes and couldn't get out and wet her pants! She didn't mind but was soaking wet and said "but Mom I was stuck in the tubes" Good thing Target was right around the corner so my Mom ran over and bought her some new pants! All in all this special girl had a GREAT day with Chuck E. Cheese! Thank you to everyone who could make it!
Three years ago our lives changed forever!
This big girl turned three on September 26, 2009. She loves telling everybody "I am three." She is so cute and had her 3 year old well visit today and she is 32lbs (63percentile for weight) and 38inches tall (83percentile for height) you would never know she was my little 3lb 12 oz preemie. She had to get a shot and was soo brave she didn't even flinch! Such a cute girl. We love you Avery and can't believe you are already 3!
Catching up!
Here is the little man at 8 weeks old! Yes he has started to smile and it melts my heart! The first time I saw his precious smile I got butterflies in my stomach.
He had his 2 month appointment today and got 4 immunizations. He wasn't thrilled but only cried for a minute or so. He is now 9lbs 2oz and 22inches long. He is barely starting to be on the growth chart for a normal newborn. He has gone a few nights where he has given me a three hour stretch of sleep but still is pretty much feeding every two hours. Ask anyone that is around me and they will tell you I am a little sleep deprived. Oh well this too shall pass....right?

Madyx and Matt
So here is a pic of Matt as a baby....I think Madyx looks a lot like his Daddy! So stinkin cute!!!

Another Update!
Well not a whole lot has been going we are still adjusting to being a family of four! I am adjusting to getting little sleep, Matt is working a lot, and Avery is doing so great with her brother.
We had a little baby shower last weekend for our baby boy and got lots of neat gifts! Thanks to all that came to meet Madyx.
I still can't believe I have a boy but am loving every second of this little guy! He is definetly getting bigger and is 6 1/2 weeks old and is starting to fill out some of the newborn size clothes. I actually found some little shoes that fit him too. I will have to get a picture of that because they are sooo cute!
Avery is LOVING preschool and wishes she had it every day. She talks about this little boy Michael at preschool all the time. I must say he is the cutest little guy too. I think his family is from New York and he has brown hair and blue eyes and is adorable but seriously after her first day all she talks about is Michael...soooo not ready for that! I will have to take a picture of them too because oh my goodness are they cute....
Well that is all that is going on in our little McCabe world...

Avery's First Day of Preschool
So last week Avery started preschool!!!!
Now I was really hesitant to start her in preschool this year because she won't be 3 until the end of September. I thought maybe we should wait one more year even though she asked all the time to go to preschool. Well last Monday we went and toured a preschool in Anthem and loved it. While on our tour she said "Mom can I stay here." and "Mom where is my teacher." So whether her Mom was ready or not this little girl was ready to start! We decided to put her in Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9 to noon. Once she learned she would be going on Tuesday she requested a princess backpack and was sooo excited. She woke up Tuesday morning ready to go. She never once hesitated and walked right in and sat down. I think it helps that Noah (her cousin) is in the same class too! Enjoy these pics of Avery's first day!!!
Sibling Love....
I have so enjoyed watching Avery accept Madyx into her little life. She loves him and is always saying "oh he is so cute." She is wanting to snuggle with him more and more.
She loves him most of the time but is still figuring out how to share her parents with him. The other day while we were all sitting on the couch Avery said "Mom can you get Madyx other parents." I replied "Well where are his other parents?" She said "In your tummy!" I guess she thought he would come out with his own set of parents ;-)

Our little man...the first few days!!!
Well it is hard to believe that our little Madyx is 2 weeks old now. We have had a fun two weeks meeting different family members and going to doctor appointments. We got home from the hospital on Friday July 31st two days after delivering Madyx. We had a great weekend home and Madyx got to meet his cousins. Parker, Peyton and Noah have been dying to meet this little guy. So it was lots of fun having them over but I must say they are like leeches to this little one. I bought a bottle of hand sanitizer and make them wash down before touching him :-) Here are some pics of there meeting...

Meeting his cousins...
The first Monday we were home we had an early morning pediatrician appointment. She thought he looked a little yellow and so did we so she did a repeat billirubin test which came back high. Our pediatrician called us Monday night and told us she was going to admit Madyx to the pediatrics unit at Scottsdale Shea. I was soooo upset just because I wasn't feeling that great and didn't want to have to go back to the hospital. Matt stayed with Avery and my Mom took Madyx and I down to Shea. The room was super nice and I got to stay right next to him. He was under triple light phototherapy. He cried for the first 7 hours because he had to lay under the lights with just a diaper on and totally exposed. Finally he settled down and lounged in the bassinet.
