Good week!

Sorry I haven't updated but really things haven't been all too exciting which is great...nice and boring is what we need right now!

I had several doctors appointments last week which was nice because it got me out of the house.
Tuesday we monitored the baby for 30 minutes (NST) and of course it moved like crazy and passed with flying colors. Wednesday I had a doctors appointment and she is happy with what I have been doing. I was only taking my blood pressure medication once a day but have stopped taking it altogether now. The combination of bed rest and blood pressure medication was making my blood pressure go too low 100/50 and I was feeling pretty crappy. I haven't taken it since last Tuesday and feel way better. I have to be careful though because any prolonged movement makes my blood pressure spike high 140/90's but as long as I lay really low it is perfect 120/70. I had another ultrasound (BPP) on Thursday for the little babe and again we scored 8/8. The baby is still breech and the doctor that did the ultrasound said "I don't know if this baby could get its head more under your ribs" Nice huh... :-) I had more labs drawn on Thursday and those are staying good as well!

The best part of the week were the visits from my dear friends at work. First Erin stopped by Thursday night on her way camping and brought root beer floats and movies. Then Sarah, Tara, and Natalie stopped by on Friday and they all brought a meal for us. Matt was really excited because meal planning has been his job and it is not that easy. Love the girls I work with and feel totally blessed with their love and support. I can't wait to return the favors to each and every one of them!!!!!!!

Avery has been doing great and is probably more entertained now than just running errands with Mom which was her normal routine. She went to the water park a few times last week, had several play dates with her cousins, and her Daddy went out and bought playdough, legos, and crafts for her to sit with me and do together!

Now this weekend we pulled out several boxes of baby stuff from the garage and I started going through them. I am a little overwhelmed with what to bring out! So it will be a slow process with just some directing on my part...I figure we will just have the basic necessities and then once we have this little one fill in everything else!

One Day Down Hopefully Many More to go!!!

Well I got my second steroid shot today from my dear friend Sarah. I love this girl...She is like our little mother hen at work and takes care of all her little pregos dearly. Hopefully we will get to return the favor plus some to her soon.... Thanks for the poke in the bum today Sarah. You always make me feel better even when I feel pretty crummy....

I feel so blessed that this time I am being followed closely and have great friends to take care of me and its nice to know the docs that are taking care of me too. I didn't sleep well last night because this blood pressure medication is something fierce. Also I am really flushed...not sure if it is the steroids or the bp med? My face looks like I sat out in the sun for several hours with my puffy little cheeks bright red...cute huh.

Matts amazing and made banana pancakes for breakfast this morning. He had to head to the office to switch out his computer and was a little stressed that he wasn't gonna make it home in time for me to get my steroid. But no worries my great sister took Ave for a little bit until Matt could get away from the office. He made a great dinner tonight even though my hunger pains spoke before my brain and I stressed him out. Thanks Matt everything was delicious today probably better than my same old cookin....Your the best! I don't know what I would do without you!

Avery definetly knows something is up she just kept rubbing my arm today and giving me hugs and kisses. For the life of her she could not figure out why I was putting my pee in a jug in the fridge...for my 24 hour urine. She is just so sweet and caring!

So there it is a day in the life of bedrest....tomorrow it is sure to be a lot less exciting as I have no where to go just get to schedule my testing for the baby next week and lay low.

I started "The Kite Runner" last night and both my sisters are gonna bring more books...seriously start sending me lists of your faves people!

Update on Babe and I (sorry its long)

Well we had another growth ultrasound and doctors appointment yesterday and it was quite a long and eventful day. First in the morning we headed to our much anticipated growth ultrasound to see how this baby has grown in the last 3 weeks. We waited awhile but got in for our scan and baby is still measuring only in the 8th percentile. My post three weeks ago said it was in the 11th percentile but really it was only in the 8th percentile. The baby has grown and has gone from 1lb 8oz to 2lbs 120z but is still small for its gestational age. Everything with the blood flow from the placenta through the umbilical cord look like they are flowing correctly so that is a good sign. At least it didn't drop further and is still staying on its "own" curve. Once again the baby had its arms over its face so we didn't get great pics. It completely flipped and instead of being head down it is now breech so hopefully it will flip back around before now and when we will need to deliver.

Now on to the doctors appointment! Well since last Thursday I felt like something had definetly changed and when I was at work I checked my blood pressure and it was 150/90 so I had some lab work done and everything looked good. I left work and didn't go in on Friday either hoping that if I laid low I would make it back to work Monday. I headed in Monday and had a pretty easy assignment. I waited several hours and at at about 6ish my blood pressure was in the 140/90 so I decided it was probably best to leave work again and wait for appointment yesterday to see what my doc said. Well my blood pressures haven't gotten any better they are ok when I am horizontal but not when I am vertical. So as of yesterday I am on pretty strict bedrest. Matt wanted to hear from the docs mouth what I am allowed to do and what I am not because he knows that I am not a good patient!!! We also started our first dose of steroids yesterday for the baby's lungs to mature just in case we deliver early. I started a blood pressure medication yesterday that we were hoping I would only need to take once a day but when the second dose was due this morning I needed it. It makes me feel weird but if it will buy us time so be it! We will be monitoring the baby closely because of its size and my blood pressures. So I will do monitoring twice a week for the baby and I will be seeing my doctor once a week from this point forward.

I was really hoping we wouldn't cross this bridge again like I did with Avery. Before Matt and I decided to have another baby I talked to one of the high risk OB's about what the chances were that this would all happen again and he said 20-30%. Lucky us we are in the 20-30%.... I am not worried about me but about Avery having a Mommy semi out of commission, I worry about Matt picking up the pieces and I worry that I will not be able to grow this baby and we will have to deliver early.... Everyday counts and all I can do is take it one day at a time. I am a passenger in my own body and have no control of what is going to take place.

If anybody has any good book or movie ideas let me know! Keep us in your thoughts and I will try to update as I can!

Oh and just in case you are wondering because a few people have asked we still don't know the gender! Yes they can tell on ultrasound but we always close our eyes so hopefully nobody will spill the beans until delivery. That truly is the best surprise...Ave and I still say girl and Matt still wishes boy....

Getting so big....

A few weeks ago we took some pics at the park and seeing them Matt and I both said "she is getting so big." She is precious and we just love her so much...Enjoy!

Daddy/Daughter Camping Trip

So last Saturday morning Avery and Matt ventured up north to go on an overnight camping trip with another friend and his little girl. They packed up our friends truck and Avery was ecstatic to sleep in a tent, roast marshmallows, and go fishing. I was a little nervous!

They had a blast. Here is a pic of Matt and Avery on a quad...Ave of course has her princess helmet on!

They rented a little boat on Sunday and went fishing. She was very excited to use her new fishing pole and Matt said they caught a few fish and Avery wanted to kiss them! Then on the ride home both the girls crashed...

She came home covered in dirt and soaked in the bath for a good 45 minutes. Thats my girl...likes to get dirty but Loves to get clean!

80 days to go....really!!!

So did you see this

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->

Yep that little baby ticker that says 80 days! I logged in to write my sleep post and went "Oh My Gosh."

Why OMG....

-I am not sure I will even get the full 80 days with this babe in my belly
-Can't believe I have already been pregnant for 200 days (went by too fast)
-Don't think I am anywhere near ready to let go of the babe in my womb and let it be part of the real world :-)
-I have not one single baby item currently residing in my house
-I have not taken inventory of what we have and what we need
-What we do have will need to be washed including (car seat, swing, bouncer)
-The baby's room is still a guest room (slight problem)
-I still need to finish Avery's decor in her room before I can begin to think of another
-If it is a boy I hope he likes pink because he might just have to wear pink for a few weeks

And the list goes on...The good news is I didn't have much ready for Avery when she was born at 33 weeks. So if this babe is born we know we can scramble to get things ready. But I am thinking I should step on it! Problem is I wanted everything in my entire house organized first before I got out all the baby stuff...hhmmm maybe I should rethink that! :-)

Sleep...

I am not sure what it is about being pregnant and getting the worst sleep ever. A few weeks ago we would have marathon long soccer tournaments/ballet performances with this babe in my belly! Literally I woke up one night wide awake and came out to the couch and from 1am until 5am it looked like popcorn was popping in my belly this baby was so active. It was hilarious. I guess it is getting me prepared for those middle of the night feedings we are soon to experience... But its not just the babe that is having sleeping issues!!!

A few weeks ago we got Avery a "big girl bed." A twin sized bed that she fits comfortably in. Now I knew there would probably be a few nights where she would get out of bed but knew we would get through it. Well she goes to sleep pretty good...usually she walks out once and we walk her back to bed and she falls asleep. BUT the big problem is she comes to our room between 1am and 3am to sniggle...Now there have been a few times where we have both been sooo tired that we just let her sleep in our bed. But now she thinks it is where she belongs in the middle of the night. However the nights that I walk her back to her bed she stays awake and comes back to our room 3 or 4 times and it goes on and on for a couple hours... Of course the little babe in the belly hears her sweet little voice and thinks it is party time :-)

So it all begins...sleep in our house is going to be a precious commodity over the next several months. With Avery figuring out the new big girl status she has been upgraded to and the new babe making its entrance in less than 80 days!
