Daddy/Daughter Camping Trip

So last Saturday morning Avery and Matt ventured up north to go on an overnight camping trip with another friend and his little girl. They packed up our friends truck and Avery was ecstatic to sleep in a tent, roast marshmallows, and go fishing. I was a little nervous!

They had a blast. Here is a pic of Matt and Avery on a quad...Ave of course has her princess helmet on!

They rented a little boat on Sunday and went fishing. She was very excited to use her new fishing pole and Matt said they caught a few fish and Avery wanted to kiss them! Then on the ride home both the girls crashed...

She came home covered in dirt and soaked in the bath for a good 45 minutes. Thats my girl...likes to get dirty but Loves to get clean!

80 days to go....really!!!

So did you see this

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->

Yep that little baby ticker that says 80 days! I logged in to write my sleep post and went "Oh My Gosh."

Why OMG....

-I am not sure I will even get the full 80 days with this babe in my belly
-Can't believe I have already been pregnant for 200 days (went by too fast)
-Don't think I am anywhere near ready to let go of the babe in my womb and let it be part of the real world :-)
-I have not one single baby item currently residing in my house
-I have not taken inventory of what we have and what we need
-What we do have will need to be washed including (car seat, swing, bouncer)
-The baby's room is still a guest room (slight problem)
-I still need to finish Avery's decor in her room before I can begin to think of another
-If it is a boy I hope he likes pink because he might just have to wear pink for a few weeks

And the list goes on...The good news is I didn't have much ready for Avery when she was born at 33 weeks. So if this babe is born we know we can scramble to get things ready. But I am thinking I should step on it! Problem is I wanted everything in my entire house organized first before I got out all the baby stuff...hhmmm maybe I should rethink that! :-)

Sleep...

I am not sure what it is about being pregnant and getting the worst sleep ever. A few weeks ago we would have marathon long soccer tournaments/ballet performances with this babe in my belly! Literally I woke up one night wide awake and came out to the couch and from 1am until 5am it looked like popcorn was popping in my belly this baby was so active. It was hilarious. I guess it is getting me prepared for those middle of the night feedings we are soon to experience... But its not just the babe that is having sleeping issues!!!

A few weeks ago we got Avery a "big girl bed." A twin sized bed that she fits comfortably in. Now I knew there would probably be a few nights where she would get out of bed but knew we would get through it. Well she goes to sleep pretty good...usually she walks out once and we walk her back to bed and she falls asleep. BUT the big problem is she comes to our room between 1am and 3am to sniggle...Now there have been a few times where we have both been sooo tired that we just let her sleep in our bed. But now she thinks it is where she belongs in the middle of the night. However the nights that I walk her back to her bed she stays awake and comes back to our room 3 or 4 times and it goes on and on for a couple hours... Of course the little babe in the belly hears her sweet little voice and thinks it is party time :-)

So it all begins...sleep in our house is going to be a precious commodity over the next several months. With Avery figuring out the new big girl status she has been upgraded to and the new babe making its entrance in less than 80 days!

Ultrasound!

Posted by Picasa
Well today we got to see that cute little peanut above. Of course in typical baby McCabe style our kiddos love to have there hands/arms over their face during ultrasounds to keep the true look of them a surprise.... I love the pic above with the baby and its hand over its forhead like "ah this is exhausting." Cracks me up! We got some cute pics of the little ones feet too...the culprit to those middle of the night soccer tournaments/ballet performances!!! Everything looked great but the baby is measuring really small only in the 11th percentile on the growth curve...It stresses me out but will just mean we will follow the babe's growth pretty closely over the next few weeks. So far my blood pressure has been normal and I haven't gotten the results back from my glucose test and pre-eclampsia labs I had done last week so we will see!
If you look at my little baby ticker to the right you will see we are under 100 days left til we meet this new little addition. It seems like no time at all I just hope and pray that we will get all the time we need!

Funny Stuff!

Well I don't have any pics to post but have a couple of funny stories....

Saturday night I got cancelled from work the last 4 hours of my shift.  I was headed home and had to take a detour and didn't end up getting home until after 8pm.  On my way home I decided I would stop at the local Thai food restaurant in Anthem and get take out for myself since Matt and Avery had already eaten.  Now I must preface this by saying that we frequent this little restaurant a lot.  The cutest little young Thai couple own the restaurant and LOVE Avery.  They know us by name when we walk in and I am pretty sure know our order before we ever order...  So I go in order my food and they say it will take about 10 minutes.  I tell them no problem I was going to run to the grocery store next door and be back in 10 minutes.  I ran to the grocery store and didn't take any where near ten minutes.  When I turned the corner back to the Thai food restaurant both the man and the woman were standing at the door with my food in hand.  The store wasn't close to closing time so I was a little confused.  Then the woman walks out with the man and hands me my food and asks me if they could ask me a question..."Sure" I said.  At this point the woman gets embarressed and makes the man go back inside the restaurant....She keeps stumbling her words and says "Is Avery...Is Avery...Is Avery" and would laugh and chuckle nervously!  I couldn't quite figure out what was going on until I saw she kept looking down at my tummy and so I laughed and said "oh is Avery gonna have a sibling."  She laughed nervously and said "yeah"  I grabbed my growing belly and said "oh yeah I am pregnant and she will have a little brother or sister in August."  The lady still laughing and acting funny then says "oh I glad we thought we make you fat...not good"  I almost died of laughter and it took everything in my power to continue the conversation!  She stuttered her words and said oh I bet 'new baby be cute like Avery' and then walked inside the restaurant.  I walked to my car laughing out loud!  So they must have been observing my growing belly the last several weeks and were sincerely concerned that I was getting 'FAT'  but are happy now knowing I am just pregnant!!!!

Funny/Cute Story #2
I had a doctors appointment this morning Matt decided he would come along so we brought Avery too.  We told her last night that we were going to go to the doctor and listen to the babies heart.  I tried to immitate what it would sound like and she would repeat the whoosh whoosh noise that the doppler makes.  Then today when Dr. Williamson was dopplering my tummy she did it for awhile to let Avery hear!  Well a doppler can have some static and the babies heart beat was fast in the 140's so Avery thought it sounded like a pig snorting :-)  She kept asking "Mommy is there a piggy in your tummy"  Silly girl!!!

Fun stuff this pregnancy...people say the darndest things!  As far as a baby update goes I definetly feel like I have poppped.  I am measuring right on target!  I will go have more blood work done this week to see how my  labs are.   And last but not least have another ultrasound to see how the baby is doing in growth and also to follow up with my uterine artery that has some resistance....  All in all things are good!  And hopefully will continue to be after all this blood work and ultrasound!

Mothers Day 2009

I had a great Mother's Day this year. Matt and Avery made me dinner on Saturday night that was superb. We went to my Grandma's for lunch on Mothers Day and then Avery and Matt planted me a little Garden for our backyard as my present! So much fun... Here are some pics of our day!

What have we been up to?

Avery has been very interested in using the potty the last couple of days. So we are going with it. Not sure how long it will last but hopefully this time is it and she will be potty trained...She said "I need privacy go out there" and pointed for me to walk out the door. Then when I walked back in she was reading Sports Illustrated that Matt's friend Tony D. left here. Nice huh. Thanks Tony for providing reading material for Avery's toilet training :-)

Matt had been pulling some long hours at work so we let him sleep in one Saturday morning and Avery and I cooked him breakfast in bed. Avery insisted on climbing up into bed and eating with him. She thought it was pretty neat! So cute!

Avery and I started swim class yesterday. She did great and remembered a lot from last year. She screams when she is excited and screamed A LOT. My hearing might be gone at the end of this but I don't think it will take long before she moves up a class and then it will be all by herself no Mom in the water with her...Stay tuned for pics!
