Avery's First Day of Preschool
So last week Avery started preschool!!!!
Now I was really hesitant to start her in preschool this year because she won't be 3 until the end of September. I thought maybe we should wait one more year even though she asked all the time to go to preschool. Well last Monday we went and toured a preschool in Anthem and loved it. While on our tour she said "Mom can I stay here." and "Mom where is my teacher." So whether her Mom was ready or not this little girl was ready to start! We decided to put her in Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9 to noon. Once she learned she would be going on Tuesday she requested a princess backpack and was sooo excited. She woke up Tuesday morning ready to go. She never once hesitated and walked right in and sat down. I think it helps that Noah (her cousin) is in the same class too! Enjoy these pics of Avery's first day!!!
Sibling Love....
I have so enjoyed watching Avery accept Madyx into her little life. She loves him and is always saying "oh he is so cute." She is wanting to snuggle with him more and more.
She loves him most of the time but is still figuring out how to share her parents with him. The other day while we were all sitting on the couch Avery said "Mom can you get Madyx other parents." I replied "Well where are his other parents?" She said "In your tummy!" I guess she thought he would come out with his own set of parents ;-)

Our little man...the first few days!!!
Well it is hard to believe that our little Madyx is 2 weeks old now. We have had a fun two weeks meeting different family members and going to doctor appointments. We got home from the hospital on Friday July 31st two days after delivering Madyx. We had a great weekend home and Madyx got to meet his cousins. Parker, Peyton and Noah have been dying to meet this little guy. So it was lots of fun having them over but I must say they are like leeches to this little one. I bought a bottle of hand sanitizer and make them wash down before touching him :-) Here are some pics of there meeting...

Meeting his cousins...
The first Monday we were home we had an early morning pediatrician appointment. She thought he looked a little yellow and so did we so she did a repeat billirubin test which came back high. Our pediatrician called us Monday night and told us she was going to admit Madyx to the pediatrics unit at Scottsdale Shea. I was soooo upset just because I wasn't feeling that great and didn't want to have to go back to the hospital. Matt stayed with Avery and my Mom took Madyx and I down to Shea. The room was super nice and I got to stay right next to him. He was under triple light phototherapy. He cried for the first 7 hours because he had to lay under the lights with just a diaper on and totally exposed. Finally he settled down and lounged in the bassinet.

Catching up....
Well I am going through all my pics and realize I am a little behind from before we had Madyx...so here it goes! I am gonna try and catch up!
First of all spending 6 weeks on bedrest lead to some entertaining ideas with Avery. She did so great and we tried to do some fun things in the house with her. Here is a glimpse of life with an almost 3 year old while on bedrest....

Madyx Morton McCabe
Well it seems absolutely surreal that our precious baby is here with us and home with us! It was an extremely long week but we are both healthy and our family is so happy.
Madyx Morton McCabe was born July 29, 2009 at 3:49am. He weighed 4pounds 13oz and is 17 1/4 inches long. He is a pound bigger than Avery was but an inch and 3/4 shorter. He is absolutely precious and although it took me a day or so to get used to the fact that we have a son I am sooooo in love!
Enjoy our pics of our first few days as a family of FOUR!
